As students and families settle into another school year, public media will continue its work to create enhanced learning opportunities outside the traditional classroom. Our educational programming - whether for early learners, teens and tweens or young adults - can help shape the minds of our youngest supporters by introducing them to new places, showcasing various viewpoints and affirming their experiences.

This month, we're inviting our viewers to spend their weekends with South Carolina ETV. Our schedule highlights weekend programming that's designed to excite, educate and entertain throughout July.

Our world is full of unique voices that all have stories to tell. The complexity of perspectives and the ability to value differences and contribute to the enrichment of our communities. This month, SCETV amplifies programming that highlights the rich cultural strands of our state and nation. As Winston Churchill said, "diversity is the one true thing we all have in common. Celebrate it every day."

Dear ETV Endowment member,

Offering high-quality cultural arts programming is one of the main goals of SCETV and SC Public Radio. There are thousands of live art, music, dance and theater performances throughout the country, but most people do not have the time, resources or geographical proximity to attend more than a small fraction of them. Our programs fill in the gaps!

Just weeks before the pandemic hit in 2020, Robert Lukey, a long-time ETV Endowment member, shared that he was starting to work on an estate plan to honor the memory of his late husband, Dr. John Covington.

Last month, I was honored to begin serving as Interim President & CEO of South Carolina ETV and South Carolina Public Radio. Prior to this role, I served as the Assistant General Manager, leading the coordination of activities for finance, education, content development, communications and underwriting.
