Spoleto Festival USA on South Carolina Public Radio
Spoleto Festival USA returns to Charleston May 24 through June 9. Every weekday during the festival, South Carolina Public Radio’s Sonatas and Soundscapes will be there, broadcasting live with host Bradley Fuller, providing the latest happenings, along with guest interviews, previews of upcoming performances and highlights.
Performances of this year’s Chamber Music from Spoleto Festival USA, recorded live from Dock Street Theatre, begins May 31, airing weekdays on Sonatas and Soundscapes through June 14. The 2019 series, under the leadership of violinist Geoff Nuttall, features returning festival favorites St. Lawrence String Quartet, countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo, flutist Tara Helen O’Connor, tenor Paul Groves and a glorious trio of pianists—Inon Barnatan, Pedja Muzijevic, Stephen Prutsman and others.
Sonatas and Soundscapes airs Mondays – Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon on SC Public Radio’s news and music stations and is available for streaming at www.southcarolinapublicradio.org.
